Ritual to Cultivate magickal Solitude

If you haven’t already, check out this video on Hekate’s Key of Solitude, and this meditation on connecting to the Key of Solitude.

You will need:

4 of Pentacles/4 of Swords (boundaries around resources [space, time] and boundaries around information/thought patterns)

  • Either collect four coins or four feathers (butter knives will also work, but you won’t be returning these to the silverware drawer immediately)
  • A representation of yourself (picture, sigil, initials)
  • Black candle (or all purpose white)

Cleanse, ground, center, open up space (check out Squeaky’s Cauldron episodes, and video on cleansing)

Call in Hekate

Cleanse your tools and ingredients (envisioning purifying white light coming through you)

Place your representation at the center, arrange coins, feather, or knives in a perimeter

Charge candle with the feeling of being blissfully alone, with a clear mind

Light candle, place above representation

Say what you’re calling in

  • I have ample access to solitude, and revel in the beauty of coming home to myself.
  • I am happy when alone, in my silence I am shown, all I need and all I’ve know, as above and so below.
  • Use your own words, or look at my blog for a couple variations)

Repeat your intention, focusing the energy of that feeling onto your representation, seeing the items acting as a protective barrier, as your candle burns down

Use this opportunity to build energy, seeing and feeling it grow in and around you

When the energy feels very strong, slap your representation with the palm of your right hand, sealing it in. Leave it there until it feels sealed.

Allow your candle to burn down, or snuff, as you like. (I don’t ascribe to the whole blowing out thing.)

Thank Hekate, close your circle.

Keep your representation and items together, in a place where you will practice solitude. And keep your boundary practice going strong.
